Art is an important part of children because Art promotes:

In his book “Critical Links : Learning in the Art and Student Social and Academic Development” published in 2002, Dr. James S. Caterrall, Professor of Education at the University of California in Los Angeles, researched that young children who participate in the various forms of art for at least three hours, three days a week for a year are :

  • 4 times more likely to participate in a math and science fair;

  • 4 times more likely to win an award for writing an essay or poem;


  • 2 times more likely to read for pleasure; and


  • 4 times more likely to perform community service.
