We provide a systematic approach to Art learning through Art lessons divided into levels. To train a child in the field of creative art is our aim. We seek to provide appropriate guidance and environment where students may attain full potential in the field of art under the supervision of our trained teachers. We at Global Art would like to encourage our teachers to base their teaching methods on the following beliefs:
Young children learn art by looking, listening and observing. They construct and acquire knowledge by careful use of their senses to interact with the teacher and the materials/drawing samples given to them.
Because of the way students learn, which is base on their sensory and motor development; teachers should act as guides, facilitators and role models rather than lecturers. The teacher should set the right classroom environment, observe the student's understanding and push their thinking further through questions, suggestions and storytelling.
Each student is unique. This is expected, accepted and used in the planning of our syllabus and our teacher training program. Differences in abilities, maturity and learning capacity will show in the way the student accomplish his/her drawing projects. Teachers should try to gather enough experience to meet the needs of every student.
All drawing projects, activities, materials and classroom environment used in Global Art classes are designed to develop self-confidence and a positive feeling towards learnings art.
Creativity and exploration of choices in the way the drawing projects are accomplished are encouraged and supersived. The students are directly involved in discovering his/her artistic potential. The teacher must always observe what the student in trying to accomplish.
Classes in small groups are created so that the teacher can easily divide her attention to monitor all the students.
Materials used in Global Art classes are safe and easy to use. The teacher should guide the students in the proper handling of crayons, coloured pencils and books. Cleanliness should always be considered.
Positive guidance techniques such as role modeling, encouraging good behavior and setting guidelines should be practiced by the teachers. Opportunities for developing artistic skills, such as observations, questions, suggestions and story telling should be provided by the teacher. Competition on who has the best drawing in the class is discouraged.
